During last night's June 22 gig in Glasgow, Scotland, the legendary Eric Clapton reportedly stormed off stage during his performance of "Cocaine" and abruptly ended the show due to a "technical issue," which, of course, came with a hefty amount of boos and cries of displeasure.

Now he's apologizing to the attending fans for his actions. Well, his people are.

The show – which we can only assume was fantastic – was allegedly winding down, with the fan-favorite "Cocaine" being the last song of the night. Yet, during the performance, the venue's PA system became "unbearable," as stated on Slowhand's official website. Therefore, he then had no choice but to storm off the stage and leave fans in the lurch.

The aforementioned statement that appears on the "Layla" and "Tears in Heaven" singer's site asserts, "Unfortunately last night we experienced a steadily worsening technical problem with the PA system that the band battled with throughout the show. But by the last song of the set it became unbearable on stage and Eric was unable to complete that number. The usual touring set length runs at 1hr 35 mins so in fact the full set was performed apart from the entirety of 'Cocaine' which had to be curtailed. Eric is nevertheless sorry for the break in the concert. "

Clapton is scheduled to performance tonight (June 23) at the SAP Arena in Mannheim, Germany. Whether or not he'll be greeted with delight, sheer upset or a little bit of both remains to be seen.
