Eric Clapton is considered one of the most influential and prominent guitarists of all time, and he is finally returning to the road.

According to reports, the famed guitarist is embarking on a five-stop tour in North America alongside fellow guitarist Jimmie Vaughan.

Just days before his 78th birthday, Clapton shared the exciting news with his fans, "New show dates announced!"

While his tour will actually commence in April in Japan's Budokan, followed by several shows in London's Royal Albert Hall, the musician will only go to five cities in the country.

He will kick off at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Sep 8; followed by a show at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on Sep 10; St. Louis, Missouri's Enterprise Center on Sep 12; St. Paul, Minnesota's Xcel Energy Center on Sep 14, and then he will finish in Denver, Colorado's Ball Arena on Sep 16.

As of this writing, Clapton is yet to announce whether he plans to include additional shows or cities in the North American leg of his tour.

Cop Them While You Can

According to the New York Post, Clapton will be performing with a full band and himself throughout the show.

He will be playing his guitar-which fans are very much looking forward to-but end the show with a bang with his band.

His current band includes the following musicians: Doyle Bramhall II, Nathan East, Sharon White, Katie Kissoon, Sonny Emory, Paul Carrack, and Chris Stainton.

Unlike his North American shows, Clapton's special guests in London include several more artists like Johnny Depp, Imelda Ma, Joss Stone, Gary Clark Jr., John McLaughlin, Billy Gibbons, Rod Stewart, and more.

Tickets for the North American leg of his tour will go on sale a day after the musician's birthday, Mar 31.

Reports also note that fans can cop tickets via Vivid Seats in advance before they go on sale via Ticketmaster.

Clapton's Comeback

It has been a year since Clapton has officially released an album, and since then, he has dropped several singles here and there, reports say.

In 2022, he released "Happy Xmas," followed by a string of songs that strongly alluded to his stand in politics and world health.

He dropped "Pompous Fool," a song inspired by the retirement announcement of the UK's former Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Amid the pandemic, he released "Stand & Deliver," a song that pretty much showed just how much he hated the lockdown in 2020.
