Flight of the Conchords announces postponement their tours in the United Kingdom and Ireland as Bret McKenzie injured himself recently.

On the duo's Instagram account, the duo revealed that McKenzie broke two bones in his hand after falling down the stairs. He told his fans that his doctors advised him to not go on tour so that he could recover much faster.

The duo accompanied their post with a photo of McKenzie wearing a cast on his left hand.

McKenzie and Jemaine Clement also shared the news about the cancelation of their shows via their official website.

"Due to a hand injury that Bret McKenzie has suffered, Metropolis Music, Live Nation Entertainment, Chambers Touring, and Flight of the Conchords regrettably announce the postponement and imminent rescheduling of the Flight of the Conchords 'Sing Flight of the Conchords' tour. Bret and Jemaine are extremely sorry and deeply saddened that they cannot perform for their UK fans, who have waited so patiently," read the statement.

Flight Of The Conchords Over The Years

Flight of the Conchords is a New Zealand-based comedy duo whose music and skits became the basis for a BBC radio series, as well as an American television series for HBO.

McKenzie and Clement knew each other from when they were still in college. They became roommates while studying at the Victoria University of Wellington. Before working as a duo, McKenzie and Clement were part of a quintet called So You're A Man.

In 2000, the duo performed on television for the first time ever on Newton Salad. McKenzie and Clement have also performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2002 and 2003. In the same year, the duo performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

A year later, they were featured in a campaign for the British mobile phone retailer Phones 4U. They also took the stage on Australia's ABC TV show Stand Up!
