John Legend and Kelly Clarkson will perform at this year's Billboard Music Awards. Clarkson will also serve as host for the May 20 awards show.

Clarkson has 27 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with 11 of her songs making it to top 10. Three of her songs, "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)," "My Life Would Suck Without You," and "A Moment Like This" made it to no. 1.

John Legend's Billboard Success

Legend, on the other hand, will make his return to the Billboard Music Awards after his performance at the show last year. The 39-year-old singer took the stage with Florida Georgia Line in 2017 and performed "Surefire."

Chrissy Teigen's husband also received several Billboard Hot 100 hits, with a total of 15 charting singles to date. His hit ballad, "All of Me," previously made it to the top of the charts. In 2015, Legend brought home the Top Radio Song and Top Streaming Song awards from Billboard for the same track.

Other performers who will also grace the show include Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, BTS, Dua Lipa, and Camila Cabello. This year's Billboard Music Awards will broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas at 8 p.m. EDT. It will air on NBC.

Kelly Clarkson Teases Her Hosting Preparation

In related news, Clarkson recently shared how she is preparing for her upcoming hosting gig for Billboard, one of which involves starring in a promo shoot for the awards show. A photo of Clarkson wearing a form-fitting purple mini dress has been shared online on Thursday.

"To prepare for hosting the Billboard Music Awards, I already have 20 costume changes planned. I will be flying in like my girl P!nk, and calling Amy Schumer and Sarah Silverman for jokes. Well, or I'm just gonna show up and celebrate my favorite artists and get to know a few more. Yeah, maybe I'll go with that plan," said Clarkson.
