Sia has announced her new single, "Together," in a post on her social media pages earlier on Wednesday, May 13.

Her posts included the cover art for her upcoming song against a rainbow background. The caption said that her new single, "Together," is set to be released on May 20. It also shared a link where her fans can pre-save the song on major streaming services. "Together" is a part of her upcoming motion picture, "Music."

Sia's upcoming musical was co-produced with Vincent Landay and co-written with Dallas Clayton, an American author and illustrator best known for his work in the "Awesome Book" series. The story, which follows an autistic teenager cared for by her elder, drug-dealing sister, was originally based on a one-page story the "Chandelier" artist wrote herself back in 2007.

"Music" was first announced in the 2015 Venice Film Festival and is set to star Maddie Ziegler, Kate Hudson, and Leslie Odom Jr. Sia's directorial debut was originally scheduled for an October 2019 release before being moved to September 2020.

In an article published by The Hollywood Reporter shortly after her announcement, the singer-producer said that she "was too embarrassed to tell anyone I wanted to make a movie." She then had a change of heart after making the music video for her hit "Chandelier," which also featured Ziggler, the young American dancer, and a frequent collaborator in her other music videos.

Her last solo album, "Everyday Is Christmas," was released in November 2017 before forming the supergroup "LSD" with English artist Labrinth and American DJ Diplo. Last April 2019, the trio released its debut album "Labrinth, Sia & Diplo Present... LSD."

Before the May 20 single, Sia has previously released her uplifting anthem "Saved My Life" on May 1, shortly after performing the track on the comedy benefit "COVID Is Not Joke" that featured appearances from comedians including Will Ferrell, Tenacious D and more. Her new power ballad was co-written by Dua Lipa and was produced by Greg Kurstin.

In a Twitter post, it said that all proceeds from the song would go to nonprofit organization's Americares and CORE Response. A few days later, another announcement was posted on Sia's on Twitter for fans who have made their "Saved My Life" videos. The post says the artist-producer will be picking entries to be featured on her social media accounts as well as on her YouTube channels.

Sia Kate Isobelle Furler started her music career by providing vocals for the 90s acid jazz act "Crisp," performing in Adelaide, Australia. She released her debut studio album, "OnlySee," after her band disbanded. She soon moved to London, England, and became lead vocalist for Zero 7, the British sound engineering duo of Henry Binns and Sam Hardaker.

Her growing fame brought on by her gold-certified albums, "Some People Have Real Problems" and "We Are Born," made her uncomfortable and had her focus on writing songs for other artists. She successfully collaborated with EDM icon David Guetta ("Titanium"), Rihanna ("Diamonds"), and Flo Rida ("Wild Ones").

Aside from her career in music, she has also provided guest voices in animated series South Park as fellow artist Lorde and the 2017 animated film "My Little Pony: The Movie."
