Mark Hoppus needed to give up something as he tries to win against the dreaded disease.

Over a month since Hoppus first revealed that he has cancer, he shaved his head for good as he continues to receive chemotherapy treatment.

On his social media accounts, the Blink-182 bassist wished his fans and followers a happy Independence Day. He brightened everyone's day even more by sharing a hopeful photo of him smiling after shaving his head.

"The Cancer Haver wishes you all a very happy Fourth of July weekend," he captioned the post.

He also wrote on Friday about his experience while undergoing chemotherapy. According to the singer, the cancer treatment is truly a hassle except for the part that it could save his life.

Following his new update, his fans quickly sent him positive messages to cheer him up until he finally wins the battle.

One fan said, "My dad has been going through stage 4 cancer for over 2 years now. Stay strong, Mark. We're all behind you and cheering you on."

"My baby sister was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma at 15. She did four rounds of chemo. She wore a beanie religiously. She's almost 18 and has been cancer free for 2 years. Good juju and luck being sent your way," another said.

Mark Hoppus' Cancer Journey

Since he first shared his cancer diagnosis, Hoppus always makes sure that he keeps his fans updated about his treatment.

On June 23, he expressed how much he remains hopeful and positive that he would be cancer-free soon.

Despite having months-long chemotherapy, Hoppus said he feels grateful to be attended by incredible doctors. He also sent his gratitude to his family and friends who help him to get through the darkest time of his life.

He told his fans that the treatment will not be quick and easy, but he assured them to keep his head high until he gets better.

One week later, he logged on to Twitch to play with his fans and answer their questions. He shared how he felt the worst after a chemotherapy session and how he is not allowed to go anywhere else.

As of the writing, the exact type of cancer he has remains unknown. But regardless of that, he continues to look forward to finally hold another concert in the future.
