A week after The Weeknd inks his long-term partnership deal with Universal Music Group, Drake recently signed a massive deal with the same company - with the music superstars entering the same company, would the feud between the two reignite?

Drake Signs New Universal Music Group Deal

According to Variety Insiders, Drake entered a deal with Universal Music Group yesterday. Described only as a "LeBron-sized" arrangement, sources have not pinned down a figure on how big the bag Champagned Papi would take home.

However, in Drake's earlier songs, he referenced a deal this big on his "Lemon Pepper Freestyle" from his "Scary Hours 2" EP.

Rapping "Three-sixty upfront, it all comes full circle," the bar meant that he would be getting $360,000. Aside from this Drake also alludes to "owning masters" on his "The Remorse" from "Certified Lover Boy." He also name-checked UMG Executive Lucian Grainge on a bar on his Migos collaboration, "Having Our Way."

Drake has sold over 37 million album project units in his entire career as he amassed huge success for being Spotify's first artist ever to surpass 50 billion combined streams.

With this new mnulti-faceted deal, Universal Music Group shall manage Drake's recordings, publishing, merchandise, visual media projects, among many others.

Sources estimate that Drake will bring $50 million annually to the company as it would bring the Canadian star $400 million at the very least.

The Weeknd Inks Similar Universal Music Deal

Last week, The Weeknd also signed a similar deal with Universal Music Group.

The new partnership deal with the company shall cover Drake's recorded music, publishing, merchandise, and video - very similar to Drake's new deal.

But with the two in the same group would Drake's multimillion deal affect Abel's relationship with the company.

In the same Variety article that reported The Weeknd's new UMG Deal, no figures were mentioned nor any source that tells that the deal amounts as same as or as higher as Drake's.

Well, this might pose some problems on The Weeknd's side and might possibly reignite the beef with Drake. Remember last Coachella 2022 when The Weeknd was last minutely pulled out to replace Kanye?

Abel demanded that he would not be performing at the highly-anticipated festival should he not be paid the same amount that Kanye West was planned to. To be fair with The Weeknd, that was a great bargain - considering how many fans have been yearning for his return to stage.

The Weeknd successfully got what he wanted and aced his two weekend performance with Swedish House Mafia.

Do you think this might reignite the two's beef again?
