Metallica is currently traveling across different cities around the world for their 2022 tour, but it was only in the Netherlands that they performed an iconic song for the first time in six years.

According to 103 GBF Rocks, the metal band was one of the performers at the Pinkpop Festival in the Netherlands.

The group played a total of 13 songs for fans and added three more for an encore.

Fans were shocked upon hearing a very familiar song that they thought the band had forgotten. They played "Metal Militia" for the first time since 2016.

The track is from their 1983 album "Kill 'Em All." Setlist reported that the song was only performed a total of 91 times throughout their career, which is far different from their other mainstream songs.

Aside from the "Metal Militia," the band also played "One" and "Master of Puppets" in their encore.

Even though six years may not sound like a long time to some concertgoers, the band has been touring worldwide and has played in hundreds of cities.

They also made history earlier this week for ending the show with "Master of Puppets" for the first time since 1997.

Metallica's James Hetfield will teach fans how to do riffs and rhythms through a three-lesson course.

He will be joined by Kirk Hammett to teach fans. Other band members Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujillo will have a special appearance by sharing their insights about their songs.

The platform has already released the first lesson titled "Riff Lite." The two other sessions, "Rock and Rhythm" and "Take the Lead," will be released in late June and early July.

The band will feature songs from their catalogs like "Welcome Home (Santarium)," "Nothing Else Matters," "Master of Puppets," "Entert Sandman" and many more.
