Jamie Spears asserts that Britney Spears' next book already earned her $15 million (£12.5 million), and in exchange, the pop star will be sharing a lot of experiences that are yet unheard by fans.

According to Britney Spears' father, this is a clear sign that the singer is only evading the court. If she could write about things that happened to her — what's so different from testifying about them?

Entertainment Tonight has received court records indicating that the pop star's father is attempting to compel his daughter to give a deposition.

In the documents, his attorneys assert that she is evading a deposition, for no clear reason. After all, she has accepted a $15 million book contract to write a biography on the very matters she refuses to discuss under oath.

Jamie is currently preparing a lawsuit against Britney, as evidenced by court paperwork referencing his "right to prepare his case and depose Britney" due to her "inflammatory and unfounded charges against him on Instagram."

Jamie's defense attorney intends to utilize Britney's deposition as "admissible evidence."

Britney is avoiding testifying, according to Jamie's legal team, because she may have to discuss "emotionally unpleasant issues." However, Britney's legal team insists that this argument is laughable — given how the star is not keeping mum on what allegedly happened to her.

Referring to Britney's Instagram posts about the conservatorship, which was officially terminated in November, and her upcoming book deal, Jamie's legal team wrote, "That Britney can speak about the very issues she publicly raises (including to cash a $15 million cheque) but suddenly would be 'unduly burdened' by the litigation her counsel initiated is ridiculous."

This is not the first time the $15 million number has been used to describe Britney's book agreement even though there's no real proof of it being true. However, sites reporting on the forthcoming biography in February cited unnamed sources to support reports of the contract.

The court records were submitted shortly after Mathew Rosengart, Britney's attorney, filed a move to compel Jamie to give a deposition regarding his conduct as Britney's conservator.

Britney Spears underwent a significant transformation following Jason Alexander's wedding day intrusion into her home. A source tells ET that following the incident preceding her wedding to Sam Asghari, Spears, 40, "fired her whole security crew." She also recently deactivated her social media.
