High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 3 will be packed with nostalgia as the Disney hit series is now taking on a Disney classic - Camp Rock!

Aside from Frozen and the great outdoors, HSMTMTS has shocked wildcats as they revealed that the iconic song It's On from Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam makes its way to Camp Shallow Lake.

The huge group number, however, is missing one key cast member that some fans think would be best suited to helm the Demi Lovato hit - Olivia Rodrigo.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Debuts Camp Rock on Season 3

In a new sneak peek posted by Disney on YouTube, the cast of HSMTMTS, including new characters this season, finally debuted Camp Rock onto the series.

As soon as the news releases hit online that the third season of the Disney Hit series is going to the great outdoors, everyone immediately thought about Camp Rock and not Frozen.

While fans are still happy that Frozen was chosen, the news that a Camp Rock song was to be performed in the series was a huge shocker.

It's On was originally sung in the Disney Original Movie Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. Now pop star Demi Lovato was the original main lead of the song, Camp Rock's anthem, as they challenged Camp Star into a duel concert to prove who's the better summer camp between the two.

The performance has now racked up over 7.7 million views on Disney's official YouTube account, making it an iconic moment in the early 2010s Disney era.

The over-the-top yet basic choreography that the original performance was visibly emulated in the HSMTMTS version, which unlike the original, is a tad less competitive.

Season 3 newcomers Adrian Lyles, Saylor Bell, and Meg Donnelly were among the scene-stealers on the new video, which features their killer vocals that naturally blended with the main cast, including Joshua Bassett, Sofia Wylie, Matt Cornett, and Julia Lester, among others.

But the colorful and energetic number seemed to be missing one key member of the group, Olivia Rodrigo.

Olivia Rodrigo Missing From HSMTMTS Camp Rock Performance?

In HSMTMTS Season 3, Disney breakout star Olivia Rodrigo takes a back seat this season mainly because of availability issues after her quick shot to stardom.

Rodrigo was demoted into a recurring cast as her storyline also takes a rather different route from the main gang. Based on the trailer and last season's ending, Rodrigo's character Nini is pursuing her career in music with the help of Jordan Fisher's character, who is a big-shot producer.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson also makes a guest appearance this season as an old family friend of Nini, who fans think would push her to pursue her dreams.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 3 will air on Disney Plus on July 27, 2022.
