Sugababes' remake of their hit "Push the Button" has caught some flak and Keisha Buchanan is NOT having it. She called for understanding and respect.

Keisha Buchanan has turned to social media to convey "the truth" after being criticized by fans for incorporating Siobhan Donaghy in a music video.

It was not supposed to turn out like this. After all, who does not want to see a "Push The Button" remake by the Sugababes right?

When Siobhan, Keisha, and Mutya Buena uploaded a clip of themselves replicating a portion of the Sugababes' 2005 music video for "Push The Button," many were quick to realize and point out that Siobhan had quit the group prior to the song's release and was replaced by Heidi Range. Therefore, they questioned her part in this remake when it was Range who appeared in the video and provided vocals for the song when it was originally released.

Fans also were quick to say that were unimpressed with the clip

"Nah where's Heidi, Siobhan wasn't the vibe at all," said one. Another simply said it's not the same - you cannot just replace Range with Donaghy.

"Heidi has more of a claim to Sugababes than Siobhan, just saying," another discontented viewer said.

One outrightly said that Heidi was more part of the group than Siobhan so they could not accept that she's not part of the remake while the other is.

Now, Keisha has resorted to TikTok to give her opinion on the situation with her 29.3 million followers, confessing that she generally would not respond to such comments.

"I did notice that there was a lot of comments with our video, our remake of Push The Button in the elevator and I just wanted to give you an exclusive," she started.

She then gave two points as to why she thinks the haters are wrong and what they need to understand

"Number one, I think it's important for everyone to understand when you're in a group and there's line up changes, it would be really hard for me and Mutya to celebrate our legacy without Siobhan because we're currently in the group with Siobhan. It was exactly the same when we were in the group with Heidi, we would do Overload because that is something we wanted to celebrate," she explained.

The About You Now singer said that it is all about respect.

She then said, "So to deny one wouldn't be cool, we want to celebrate all of our achievements, that's the first thing I wanted to clear up."

As for the second point, she said Range does not have an issue of her not being part of the remake.

"The second thing, I can tell you that Amelle and Heidi are very happy for us, they're supporting us from afar, it's all love, it's not what you think it is. Yes, we've been through things and that's life but I hope that if you ever go through things with people, you don't hold onto bitterness and all of that, strife and craziness, it's about moving forward and being progressive," she said.

Reflecting on their disputes with the Sugababes prior to regaining the moniker, Keisha stated that it is time to just let the past stay in the past.
