Chlöe Bailey shot to fame when she started posting cover videos on YouTube along with her sister Halle Bailey, who's set to star as Ariel in the highly-anticipated live-action movie "The Little Mermaid," but her career skyrocketed even more when she found success in her solo career.

Recently, the R&B star attended the New Yorker Festival over the weekend where she spoke to journalist Lauren Michele Jackson after her intimate performance that received a standing ovation from the crowd.

During their chat, the writer asked the 24-year-old singer how the role of social media platforms, especially TikTok, affects her creative process when it comes to making music.

Billboard noted that Chlöe's song, "Have Mercy," became a trending sound on the platform, with millions of users using it for a dance challenge.

She opened up about how the platform affects not just her but other artists as well in connecting with themselves while making music.

Chloë Shares How Quincy Jones' Advice Resonated With Her

Chlöe recalled a quote from the legendary musician, Quincy Jones, which resonated with her.

The R&B star said Jones told her that "the second money enters the creative process, God walks out of the room."

The quote was so powerful that she relates to it because if she's thinking about all the successful things that she could amass from creating something, the process had already stopped.

"There's been so many times where I've gotten in my head because yes, you have to have songs or popping singles or whatever, that's great, but you can't let it rule you, and you can't let it control you," she said.

In other updates about the singer, Chlöe had been teasing fans about her solo album since last year, but she hasn't revealed the official release date for her highly-anticipated record.

However, in a previous interview with Pop Sugar, she confirmed that her next project is "wayyy hot to handle."
