Olivia Newton-John's husband and daughter shared their memories with the late singer before she tragically died in August 2022.

The music industry learned about Newton-John's death after her husband, John Easterling, posted the heartbreaking news on her official Facebook page. He confirmed that the crooner died peacefully at her ranch, with her family and friends surrounding her until her last breath.

Months after her passing, Newton-John received the best gift from the people who loved her during the state memorial service.

On Sunday, the singer's family and fans gathered to remember and honor her in Australia, during which her husband and daughter opened up about their relationships with her.

Olivia Newton-John's Husband Reveals Their Proposal Story

In his tribute message, Easterling revealed that he and Newton-John also underwent hard times as everyone has. Still, he expressed how lucky they were that they had each other and fell in love.

Easterling added that they were so happy throughout their marriage life before sharing how he proposed to her. He recalled going to the desert in Arizona as he thought it would be nice to propose to her in the Red Rock Canyons.

However, the proposal did not happen at that time because of the issues that "disturbed the moment." Instead, he planned a game of charades on Valentine's Day and made her play the secret phrase "Will you marry me?"

"She got 'will' and she got 'you,' and then I said it rhymes with 'hairy,' and then out of nowhere she just said, 'Will you marry me?' And I said, 'Yes,' " he recalled. "She looked stunned for a minute, and then started laughing ... but that's the story of how Olivia proposed to me."

She also shared some of her most favorite moments with her mother, recalling how they have the same cackle. Lattanzi disclosed that her mom did not tell dirty jokes but always laughed the hardest at them.

"We loved watching our trashy TV shows together and immediately changed the channel when John [Easterling] walked in the room. We pretended we were watching educational shows about plant medicine," she went on.

Olivia Newton-John died in 2022 following her 30-year battle with breast cancer. The experience led her to establish the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund. She was previously diagnosed with the same disease in the 1990s and in 2017.
