Madonna's history of health issues scored attention after her recent hospitalization due to a serious bacterial infection.

After her intensive care unit stay, Madonna is said to be recuperating at her New York City residence, where she was initially found unresponsive ahead of her "Celebration" tour. Before suffering from the recent condition, her medical history also scored the spotlight as fans remain anxious about her condition.

Madonna's Past Health Issues Explored

The Queen of Pop previously faced health issues that jeopardized her schedule, including her injuries, medical concerns, and COVID-19-related issues.

Before her Celebration Tour, Madonna's Madame X tour was also bombarded with issues after the singer launched it in September 2019. At that time, she went through more concerning health conditions that affected her plans.

Madonna ended up canceling the final two shows of her Madame X tour as the COVID-19 cases continued to reach a concerning peak at that time. She had them rescheduled on top of the previously affected shows due to her injuries.

In October 2019, the "Back That Up To The Beat" hitmaker revealed that her knee injury caused her to cancel several shows and that she was advised to take a rest to ensure her recovery. This led her to postpone her three-day Boston shows.

"The pain I'm in right now is overwhelming and I must rest and follow doctor's orders so I can come back stronger and better and continue [the tour]," she said at that time, per Mirror UK.

Madonna's Madame X Affected By Her Health Issues

Her health woes did not stop there as her Madame X stop in Lisbon in January 2020 was also scrapped due to the lingering pain her injuries were causing. Madonna also canceled her shows in London the same month, leaving her feeling sorry for disappointed fans.

At that time, she was already undergoing rehab for her knee injury. Unfortunately, she sustained another when she fell on the stage and landed on her tailbone.

Madonna's Madame X tour was later dubbed a "disaster" due to the series of unfortunate health issues the pop diva suffered. However, her pain did not end there so she started seeking treatment for the missing cartilage caused by her apparent injuries over the past months.

Extra reported in 2020 that Madonna underwent surgery ahead of her hip replacement procedure after the tour and tested positive for COVID-19 months later.
