One Direction's reunion is possible, but the band's former vocal coach explained why it might not feature all five members.

Directioners, One Direction's fans, have been waiting eagerly to see Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik performing their hits on one stage again or releasing a new song together. Amid the rumors, vocal coach Ali Tennant shared what he thinks about the idea of seeing the five members together again.

One Direction Will Not Reunite With 5 Members?

Reports called One Direction's status a hiatus, while some referred to it as "already disbanded." Regardless of that, fans have still been wanting to see the "What Makes You Beautiful" hitmakers in a reunion again that they started to spark rumors over the years.

Speaking about the potential reunion, the band's former vocal coach sat for an interview with Metro UK in which he gave hope to the public about the members' comeback. He noted that One Direction members bloomed individually after they stopped working as a band, sharing that Styles ultimately became the "leader of the pack" while the other members also do their things excellently.

With that, Tennant assumed the members would need to undergo a big discussion before launching the comeback show since it would take their love for fans and each other to make it happen.

On the other hand, he also explained why it would be hard to see all five on one stage again, saying Malik might not be part of a future One Direction reunion.

"Zayn is kind of excluded from the love for some reason, so I don't know if it will ever fully happen," the former vocal coach said. "You might see a one-off tour with the four of them, but I can't see the five of them coming back - I can't see that, and Zayn is now getting himself back together and putting his own thing together now."

In addition, Styles is currently embarking on his stadium worldwide tour, making it impossible for the comeback to happen as soon as possible.

One Direction Reunion Talks

The reunion rumors, on the other hand, would have not emerged if it was not because of what One Direction members said in their interviews over the past years.

They also sparked the same buzz when they launched the "immersive and interactive" website to mark their 10th anniversary in July 2020. Some members, especially Payne, openly expressed his desire to share more One Direction things.

Most recently, Horan told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 in June 2023 that the reunion talks never stopped over the years despite the official conversation not happening yet.
