Jason Derulo Bio 

Jason Joel Desrouleaux (known professionally as Jason Derulo) was born on September 21, 1989 in Miramar, Florida. Derulo was born to Haitian parents, and started singing as a child. Jason enrolled in performing arts schools in Florida, and began composing music at a young age. The then-aspiring singer wrote his first song when he was only eight years old. 

Jason Derulo gained fame in the music business as a teenager, as per All Music. Even at a young age, Derulo cemented a reputation of being an iconic R & B and rap songwriter. During the early beginnings of his career, Jason composed songs for artists that have made names for themselves in music, such as, 'Lil Wayne, Pitbull, and Pleasure P. 

How Jason Derulo Started His Music Career 

Jason Derulo debuted his professional music career when he initially signed a record contract with a Warner Brothers record subsidiary. Jason's debut breakthrough came in 2009 when the lead single off his self-titled album, "Whatcha Say" peaked at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. "Whatcha Say" was certified as a five-time RIAA-platinum single. It sold over five million copies. Jason's other platinum-selling hits were "Ridin' Solo", "Wiggle," "Want to Want Me", and "In My Head," just to name a few.

Jason Derulo Hits and Accomplishments 

Jason's second single, "In My Head" reached the number five spot of the US chart. In 2011, Jason released the album, "Future History." The release of this album was accompanied by the hit single, "Don't Wanna Go Home." 

In the early part of 2012, Derulo went on the "Future History" tour. The singer broke one of his vertebraes when he was on rehearsals at this time. The singer's neck injury caused him to cancel the entirety of the said tour. In April 2013, Derulo released a new single called,"The Other Side." A follow-up single to this song, "Talk Dirty" featured 2Chainz went to number three on the pop chart in the summer of 2013. Derulo's new album that followed, "Tattoos" , was released in September of the same year. 

Derulo's 2015 album, "Everything is 4" featured collaborations with Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Lopez, and Keith Urban, among others. "Want to Want Me" is a lead single yielded off this album, and was Jason's sixth pop hit to reach the top ten of the chart. The success of the release of this single happened simultaneously with Derulo becoming a judge of the 12th season of "So You Think You Can Dance."

Jason Derulo is scheduled to perform at an upcoming school-sponsored event in Starkville's Mississippi State's Bulldog Bash on October 20th, according to MS State's official website.
