Known for her very candid revelations and expressions during her sold-out "Weekends With Adele," the British songstress shared something personal with her audience last weekend.

Adele confessed to being an alcoholic in her 20s and revealed that she has been sober for quite a while now already.

Adele Confesses On Becoming Alcoholic

During last weekend's "Weekends With Adele," the Grammy-winning singer confessed to the crowd that she was an alcoholic back in her 20s.

"I stopped drinking maybe like three and a half months ago. It's boring. I mean, I was literally borderline alcoholic for quite a lot of my 20s, but I miss it so much," she casually shared in front of a packed crowd at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

The "I Drink Wine" singer then sarcastically implored the crowd to enjoy their whiskey sour, as she was "very very jealous."

This wasn't actually the first time that Adele spoke about her drinking habits.

Adele's Relationship With Alcohol

In an interview with Vogue, Adele revealed that during the lockdown, her first emergency run basket consisted only of two things - cult rosé Whispering Angel and ketchup - to which she joked that the bottle of rosé did not definitely make her "whisper" as it turned her into a "barking dog."

She then recalled that her drinking schedule "got earlier and earlier" back then.

"I've always had a very close relationship with alcohol. I was always very fascinated by alcohol. It's what kept my dad from me. So I always wanted to know what was so great about it," she told the publication. "They descend, and descend, and descend on you, which drives you fucking mad.

She also talked about how the death of her father in May 2021 prompted her to stop drinking.

"That's one great way of really sort of getting to know yourself, is just drinking water and being sober as anything," she told Oprah in an interview.

Although she told everyone she stopped then, Adele most likely had a relapse as she told her Las Vegas Residency crowd that she stopped again three and a half months ago, which was actually only last July 2023.

"Weekends With Adele" is on its last few shows before its end on Nov. 4, 2023. The show was rescheduled multiple times during the lockdown because of logistical concerns. The 68-show residency in Las Vegas started last November 2023.
