The secret of Michael Jackson's white glove shocked his fans years after his death.
Jackson's fashion played a huge role in the industry, and it helped him establish his own signature look as King of Pop. Among the fashion pieces he donned in his shows, the white glove on his right hand scored people's attention.
Why Michael Jackson Wore White Glove Revealed
In 1983, fans noticed that the "Smooth Criminal" hitmaker began wearing a white glove on his right hand during his shows and TV appearances. It became a trend that other musicians also started wearing different types of gloves on their respective shows.
However, Mirror revealed a shocking secret about it, saying it was more than a fashion item.
The news outlet cited what actress Cicely Tyson revealed about the glove during the singer's memorial service in 2009. According to her, she and Jackson had one fashion designer. So when she visited the shop one day, her designer suddenly told her that the glove was for Michael.

The fashion designer then revealed that Jackson would use it to conceal the signs of Vitiligo at that time.
"Michael was beginning to develop the vitiligo. And it started on his hand ... The glove was to camouflage it. That's how that glove came into being," she said. "I was there when he was creating it."
What Was Michael Jackson's Condition?
Jackson's change in complexion has been a huge buzz in the past years even after his death. While being bombarded with plastic surgery and enhancement rumors, it was soon disclosed that he was also dealing with the skin condition.
Vitiligo develops on a person's skin, forming small light patches which can grow or stay the same size for years.
Jackson noticed the spots while recording "Thriller." The singer himself addressed the health issue during his interview with Oprah Winfrey in 1993, during which he expressed how much it hurt him to hear people assumed he bleached his skin.
His personal doctor, dermatologist Arnold Klein told The Washington Post that Jackson was one of the first famous people to ever share his battle with Vitiligo. Among the other personalities dealing with the same condition include Joe Rogan, Jon Hamm, Winnie Harlow, and Gautam Singhania.
After the revelation, doctors at the University of Massachusetts Vitiligo Clinic and Research Center applauded Jackson's way of hiding his condition using a de-pigmenting cream.
