Reports suggest that the romance between Ariana Grande and her newest boyfriend, Ethan Slater, is deepening, indicating a heightened commitment in their relationship.

After parting ways with his ex-wife Lilly Jay, with whom he shares a one-year-old child, Ethan embarked on a controversial relationship with the "Thank U Next" singer during their connection on the Wicked movie in 2023.

Recently, Ariana and Ethan faced accusations of cheating, which they strongly refuted. However, Ariana has stirred up more gossip with her new song, "The Boy Is Mine."

In the track, she croons, "Please know this ain't what I planned for... Something about him is made for somebody like me."

According to recent reports, the couple are excited about what lies ahead for both of them, individually and as a couple, as they gaze towards the possibilities the future holds.

An insider revealed to Entertainment Tonight, "Ariana is feeling great in general and super proud of her new album. Ethan has been by her side, supporting her both personally and professionally."

After concluding her divorce proceedings with Dalton Gomez, Ariana officially dissolved their two-year marriage by providing him a lump sum of $1,250,000.

'The Boy Is Mine'

Reports from insiders revealed to the Daily Mail that Ethan's ex-wife felt that "The Boy is Mine" was a direct affront to him, perceiving Grande's actions as a deliberate reminder that she had "taken him away."

Directing attention to the music scene, a source with knowledge of Lilly's circle shared that Ariana's latest album reflects her true character as a woman.

"To sing a song called 'The Boy Is Mine' is not only a slap in the face to his still wife Lilly, but a slap in the face to all women."

They went on to say, "As Lilly said from the get-go, Ariana is not a girl's girl and Ethan's family is collateral damage. Ariana basically rubbed it in Lilly's face that she stole Ethan from Lilly then asks her fans to not interpret her song the wrong way. This is not an interpretation. It is her literal words."

Released to the world on March 8, "The Boy is Mine" is the sophomore single from her record Eternal Sunshine. In this track, Ariana Grande croons about a particular gentleman she avoids pursuing. Given her usual reputation for being unproblematic, she is keen on steering clear of any potential drama.

One line of the song includes, "The boy is mine/ I can't wait to try him/ Le-let's get intertwined/ The stars, they aligned."

According to the source, the former Nickelodeon star made her feelings crystal clear, leaving no room for misinterpretation.

Those in Lilly's inner circle speculate that the singer-actress' directness stems from her frustration over Ethan's prolonged divorce proceedings and that she desires his undivided attention and believes she cannot fully possess him as long as he remains legally bound to another.

"Everyone close to Lilly, and who knows Ethan, is just waiting for karma to slap him and Ariana in the face. It will come," the insider concluded.
