On Monday night, singer Ashlee Simpson was spotted out in Hollywood, California, with Evan Ross, the son of Motown legend Diana Ross. The two were hand in hand as they spent the night hanging out at different clubs and were even spotted holding hands together. But it looks like this relationship is strictly platonic according to some sources that claim that the two are longtime friends who often hang out.
"Evan and Ashlee have been friends for a really long time, probably 10 years," an insider explained to Us Weekly in regards to Simpson and Ross. "They know each other from the club scene and have tons of mutual friends."
Though this source claims we all just witnessed two friends hanging out over the weekend, a rep for the 24-year-old Ross - a familiar face on the L.A. club scene - did not comment when asked if the pair are dating. Also, Simpson's rep had the same response.

Ashlee was recently linked to "Boardwalk Empire" actor Vincent Piazza before the two split in November of last year. Also, Simpson has a 4-year-old son named Bronx with 33-year-old Fall Out Boy member Pete Wentz from their marriage that ended in 2011.
Though we might be jumping to conclusions about her love life, Ashlee recently had an addition to her family. Her big sister, singer and actress Jessica Simpson, just gave birth to her second child, Ace Knute Johnson, on Sunday.
