Jason Derulo's split from Jordin Sparks came as a shock to fans last week, and this week has been ripe with speculation on what really went down to end things. He has repeatedly been quoted as saying he did not cheat and that those rumors are all lies and that he was never disloyal, but in an interview yesterday, Oct. 1, on New York radio station Power 105, Derulo admitted he dumped Sparks in a phone call rather than in person.

First, Derulo addressed the speculation that he broke up with his girlfriend of three years by text, saying, "Nah [I did not text her], it was like over the phone. I wasn't in town."

While a phone call is slightly better than, let's say, a Post-it note a la Sex and the City, it still seems like kind of a cold way to end a relationship that Derulo himself repeatedly said would likely end in marriage. Perhaps his way of ending things is precisely why Sparks appears to be taking the high road while insinuating that it is not a friendly split at all — at least not at this point.

Ironically, in that same interview, Derulo claimed he still loves Sparks and admitted to still creeping on her social media accounts.

"You want to remain friends, but man that's hard," he said. "I catch myself looking at her Instagram and seeing what she's doing because I love her. You just don't fall out of love with somebody."

So, do you think this relationship is really finished? While Derulo claims he wanted out for a while, he keeps praising her. Needless to say, Sparks is not exactly feeling the love at all right now, and being dumped over the phone might sting worse than the reality of being single again. Will they gravitate back together, or did Derulo's phone call put an end to their romance? Comment below.
