Jordin Sparks revealed herself to be a class act earlier today when she sat for her first interview since her split from longtime love Jason Derulo was confirmed.

She took her hot seat on The Today Show set and graciously chatted with Hoda Kotb about everything going on in her life now. Rather than shy away from questions about her split, Sparks jumped right in and answered Kotb's inquiry about how she is doing.

"I'm good, actually. The funny [thing] is that I read this book the other day. Actually, it was yesterday. It said when something unexpected happens in your life or you think something bad is happening, just say, 'Plot twist' and move on."

Sparks also confirmed that she has been in the studio working on music and that she has been writing an awful lot, too. A few weeks ago, Sparks tweeted that she had just written the saddest song of her life, and now fans are anticipating that her upcoming music will likely reflect the split from Derulo.

Shortly after their break up was confirmed, rumors started swirling accusing Derulo of cheating on his girlfriend of three years. He finally stepped up an issued a statement addressing all the negativity, saying, "Infidelity, cheating or deceit played no part in our relationship or our breakup, and I hope people respect our privacy as we move forward with our lives."

Sources close to the couple have said their main problem was actually logistics and that their busy schedules were not accommodating to a healthy relationship.

While it is sad to know their love did not last, are you looking forward to the new music that will spring from Sparks and Derulo's split? Comment below.
