Céline Dion fans were left frustrated and angry after Ticketmaster suddenly paused ticket sales for the singer's highly anticipated Paris comeback shows, leaving thousands stuck in online queues with no clear answer on what would happen next.
The Canadian superstar is set to perform 10 concerts at Paris' La Défense Arena, running from September 12 to October 14. The shows mark a major return for Dion after she stepped away from touring following her diagnosis with Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological condition that has significantly affected her health and performance ability.
Ticketmaster France said the sudden halt was triggered by "suspicious activities" detected during the onsale, suggesting that bots and scalpers were interfering with the system.
"Tickets are still available for Céline Dion," the company said in a statement on X, Rolling Stone reported. "Our technical teams have identified suspicious activities and are actively working to prevent these actors from disrupting the sale. We are doing everything possible to restart the queue as quickly as possible. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused and sincerely thank all affected fans for their patience and understanding."

Céline Dion Fans Slam Ticketmaster
Despite the explanation, many fans online described the experience as chaotic and unfair. Some said they spent hours in virtual queues only to be kicked out or sent back to the beginning without warning.
According to Independent, one fan wrote that they endured a "wasted morning," describing how they moved from thousands in line to being blocked entirely. Another user said they were stuck for hours before receiving a message that the session was no longer available, calling the situation a "disgrace."
Others directly questioned Ticketmaster's handling of the sale, with one frustrated fan asking when the queue would be reopened so "all the people who have been waiting for 1 hour" could finally get a chance to buy tickets.
Dion, who has described her return to the stage as "the best gift of my life," announced the Paris residency as part of her effort to return to performing while continuing to manage her condition.
In past updates, she has shared that she is working hard on her health and is eager to sing again.
