Fans showed "The Power of Celine" as they protested following Celine Dion's snub on Rolling Stone's 200 Greatest Singers of All Time.

Multiple news outlets documented the supporters' rage as they slammed the magazine for not including the singer on the list. Variety said members of the fan club called The Redheads on Facebook traveled from Montreal to New York City to gather outside Rolling Stone's office.

The group chanted "Justice for Celine" while they carried several signs, including "Rolling Stone, you've hit an iceberg," "The Power of Celine," and "How can you forget Celine?"

The Redheads founder Line Basbous, one of the protest organizers, called the list "completely illegitimate."

"We wanted to support her and make sure that Rolling Stone hears the voice of the fans," Basbous said. "The list is ridiculous. No Madonna, no Celine. They're clearly focused on American singers and we don't understand."

She also told the magazine's Ilana Woldenberg that Rolling Stone made a big mistake by forgetting the "My Heart Will Go On" singer on the big list. She added that she should be the first on it in the first place.

Another fan said that Quebec-based fans think it was nonsense not to find Dion's name on the list.

Rolling Stone has yet to respond to it. But one of its recent articles defended the magazine and explained that Dion also did not appear on its 2018 list of the 100 Greatest Singers.

Celine Dion's Absence on Rolling Stone's List Sparks Outrage

The protest happened days after Rolling Stone unveiled its updated 200 Greatest Singers list. The magazine has been releasing it since 2008 but expanded it from 100 to 200 musicians instead.

Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Sam Cooke, Billie Holiday, Mariah Carey, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Beyonce, Otis Redding, Al Green, Little Richard, John Lennon, Patsy Cline, Freddie Mercury, Bob Dylan, Prince, Elvis Presley, Celia Cruz, Frank Sinatra, and Marvin Gaye completed the Top 20.

"Talent is impressive; genius is transcendent. Sure, many of the people here were born with massive pipes, perfect pitch, and boundless range. Others have rougher, stranger, or more delicate instruments," it explained.

Despite the reasoning, readers expressed their dismay and disbelief because of Dion's absence and the "unfair" ranking.

Fans also "slapped" Rolling Stone with a list of Dion's achievements throughout her career, including her different accolades and the record of selling 10 million album copies worldwide.
