Last month, BET announced the participants for the cypher at this year's Hip-Hop Awards and now the network is offering up a behind-the-scenes look at preparation for the event, which is set to feature Remy Ma, Treach, King Los and Papoose.
YouHeardThatNew's Lowkey went behind the scenes and got to chat with some of the MCs.
"I'm gone rip a mic down," Naughty By Nature's Treach said when asked his reaction after being asked to participate in this year's cypher. "Bout time. First time on the cypher."
While this may be a new experience for some, Remy Ma is returning after being released from prison.
"Before I didn't know who I was in the cypher with," she said in the clip. "This time, I kind of had an idea. Well, I knew Papoose was in it so I had to make sure that I was on point. It was so funny because we had mentioned that we're both in the same cypher and my man Jim was like, 'Oh my God, he's gonna try to kill you.'"
Papoose on the other hand said the preparation was "smooth" and the reunited couple "fed off of each other."
