AC/DC's music video for "Play Ball" will premiere online this week. "Play Ball" is taken from AC/DC's upcoming artist album Rock or Bust, set for release Dec. 2. According to Blabbermouth, the clip was shot Oct. 3 to 4 with director David Mallet at Black Island Studios in Middlesex, England.

In the preview clip below, Mallet, who has worked with the band for 24 years, dubs the shoot, remarking, "They have never come out with any pretense to be anything else than the best rock-and-roll band in the world."

AC/DC have been in the news a fair amount recently as they prep for a busy winter and 2015, but for all the wrong reasons. Drummer Phil Rudd was accused of hiring a hit man to kill two men. After meeting with prosecutors with his lawyer, the charges were dropped because there was not sufficient evidence against him.

But the damage to his reputation has been quite severe.

He still faces other criminal charges, as we previously reported, including a charge of threatening to kill, which, if found guilty, comes with a maximum prison sentence of seven years. He still faces charges of possession of methamphetamines and marijuana.

Though 2014 should end on a high note, things have not been easy to get here for AC/DC. In addition the Phil Rudd criminal charges, founding guitarist Malcolm Young had to retire due to being afflicted by dementia.

"Play Ball" is the lead single from their upcoming 11-track artist album. It will be their 16th studio album and first since 2008's Black Ice. Watch for the video to appear online some time this week and check out the short preview and a behind-the-scenes video below to whet your appetite. Check out all this and more on their website.
