Irish singer-songwriter, Hozier, shared the music video for his next single, "From Eden," today (Nov. 18). While the sound isn't quite as dark as his massive hit, "Take Me to Church," the singer was able to sneak in some bluesy lyrics. Interestingly enough, Hozier contrasts a life of crime in the video with the breezy melody, resulting in a conflicting bundle of emotional responses.

Hozier, aka Andrew Hozier-Byrne, is on the run in the video below. He's somehow scored the company of a beautiful young lady and a cute child, making the quasi-family trio a band of merry travelers. The suspense builds in the clip, with Hozier robbing a gas station and breaking into a house, but the ending and supporting song make the video surprisingly tender. Again, a roller coaster of emotions here.

"Honey, you're familiar like my mirror years ago," he sings. "Idealism sits in prison, chivalry fell on its sword / Innocence died screaming, honey, ask me I should know / I slithered here from Eden just to sit outside your door."

Hozier combined the best of his previous EPs to create his superb debut self-titled album. Critics raved about the release, which dropped in September.

"Blessed with a sensual singing voice and a seemingly bottomless well of lapsed-Catholic-style conflict, Hozier channels Van Morrison's Celtic R&B, Southern soul and Black Keys-style garage blues into intimately roiling songs like 'Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene,'" Rolling Stone wrote about the album.

Hozier has a long list of dates in front of him, touring Europe, the U.K. and the U.S. through March. Nearly all of his dates are sold out -- excluding the newly added the newly added third show at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium and New York's Hammerstein Ballroom.
