As expected (and teased), U2 will be taking its surprise new album Songs of Innocence on tour in the new year. Today (Dec. 3), Bono and co. announced the first 19 cities and 44 shows for the sure to be expansive iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour.
The tour will kick off on May 14, 2015, in Vancouver and travel through 19 cities (that have been announced thus far), Billboard reports. In each city, U2 will be playing indoor arenas for multiple nights. Though most cities are just doubled up on U2 shows, Los Angeles, New York and London will get four shows apiece at The Forum, Madison Square Garden and the O2 Arena, respectively.
Bono's major hand injury stemming from a bike accident in New York has not affected the tour.
Though arenas are a topping point for most touring acts, playing venues such as MSG is a more intimate step for U2, whose previous tour, U2 360, was scattered at major sports arenas across the world.
Tickets for the show will go on sale tomorrow, Dec. 4, for fan club members and Dec. 8 for the general public. Tickets will run from $30 to $275.
