For the first time ever, Kate Middleton and Prince William will be visiting NYC and the timing probably couldn't be worse for them. Aside from the duchess still occasionally battling bouts of the morning sickness that kept her completely away from any royal engagements for nearly eight weeks, the city is super busy at Christmas time. Then there are the daily protests over the Eric Garner case that have snarled traffic on a nightly basis all week and well, travel could be tricky, even for royalty!

On the flip side, Middleton is a few short months from actively juggling a newborn and her toddler son, Prince George, so she's probably pretty excited to do any traveling right now before she is forced to hunker down for her third trimester. The royal couple will arrive in NYC on Sunday and they'll be staying to promote their various causes through Tuesday, Dec. 9. Upon their arrival, the pair will attend a private engagement hosted by the American Friends of The Royal Foundation in Manhattan. On Monday, William will be off to the nation's capital to attend an anti-corruption conference at the World Bank to help promote his agenda to protect wildlife. Middleton will remain in the city on Monday and visit a Harlem child development center. She will also attend a lunch that will be hosted by the British Consulate General.

The trip won't be all work as the couple will attend an NBA game Monday night ahead of another busy day on Tuesday. Before leaving the city, Middleton and William will visit the September 11 Memorial, visit an inner city youth center and then end their stay with a black tie gala celebrating the University of St. Andrew's anniversary. Both graduated from the school and it seems a fitting ending to their trip. When all is said and done, William and his wife are hoping to have promoted organizations such as the Tusk Trust, United for Wildlife, Centrepoint, Place2Be, The Art Room, and BAFTA.

Do you think that having the royals in town over the next few days will add to the crazy traffic jams? Are fans going to be scrambling to catch a glimpse of the now-obviously pregnant Middleton? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
