Young Buck is proving that he is wasting little time this year.

A couple days after dropping his freestyle titled "New Year's Cake," he has released a music video for the track. Although short, clocking in at 2:35, the video features Young Buck in the studio after a brief introduction reminiscent of that of a radio host's voice.

Young Buck has been working on his solo career while still vocalizing support for the reunion of his group G-Unit. Last year, we saw exclusive interviews in XXL Mag and the release of a 25-minute documentary about G-Unit, as well as the release of the highly anticipated The Beauty of Independence EP, released in 2014, and The Beast Is G-Unit EP, which has been pushed back to a later release date.

As quoted in the documentary, Young Buck reflects on his past attitude, stating, "You're young and you make mistakes in life. I'm my own man, I'ma do what I want to. I've always been the real compulsive one. And being that one helped and hurt me."

In 2015, with the release of "New Years Cake," Young Buck returns to his solo mission in rap in full force, making it clear he will be focusing on recording new music — and making money, of course — regardless of what G-Unit may have in store.

At the beginning of the track he spits, "I guess y'all love me again / These R&B b-----s want to come f--k me again / They like 'Damn Buck, where the f--k have you been?' / At the bank, can't pull out what you ain't put in."

Young Buck raps over Drake’s “Pound Cake” instrumental for this freestyle, and also shouts out Bobby Shmurda and Mike Brown in the track with, “I’m on some hold you head up Bobby Shmurda s--t / I’m on some St. Louis Mike Brown murder s--t. And y’all just worried about the next pair of Jordans. / I’m in this project closet recording.”
