Kathy Troccoli released her new album 'Worshipsongs: 'Tis So Sweet,' today, July 16.
The new album marks Troccoli's first Worship collection in about nine years. Her last worship compilation was released in 2004, entitled, 'Worshipsongs: Draw Me Close.'
'Worshipsongs: 'Tis So Sweet,' features popular worship songs such as 'How Great Thou Art,' 'Jesus Paid It All,' 'As The Deer' and 'I Love You, Lord.' The songs feature simple accompaniment on piano or stringed instrument such as violin or viola. A few songs feature minimal percussion as well.
The new album makes for a calming addition to any worship/prayer environment. It is quiet and reflective while emphasizing many of the important aspects of faith through fourteen different memorable worship tunes.
Other songs on the album include, 'It Is Well With My Soul,' 'God Will Make A Way,' 'I Surrender All,' 'Breathe,' 'The Steadfast Love Of The Lord,' 'I Need Thee Every Hour,' ''Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus,' 'Be Thou My Vision,' 'Because He Lives' and 'My Jesus I Love Thee.'
Troccoli began her career in 1982 and gained immediate success after the release of her first radio hit, 'Stubborn Love,' off of her 2004 album. In 2012, she celebrated her 30th year in music and ministry. In that 30 year span she released 22 recordings within the pop, gospel and jazz music genres. She has released 17 No. 1 radio hits, 19 Dove Award nominations, two Dove Awards and three Grammy nominations.
"So many years were spent working and reaching and climbing. I was trying to find my place in the music world. But God has His perfect timing and a surprisingly different road opened up for me in the last several years. The journey has been far more exhilarating than anything I could have ever imagined," Troccoli said of her musical career, according to her website.
In addition to Christian musical performance, Troccoli has also found a place in the mainstream music scene with her tip five hit song, 'Everything Changes,' and her top ten single that she performed with the Beach boys, entitled, 'I Can Hear Music.'
