So, what does the fox say? In 2013, it seems like the answer is "massive viral success." YouTube announced its top trending videos of 2013, and Norwegian comedy duo Ylvis topped everything off with their ridiculous hit single, "The Fox."
According to YouTube, Ylvis topped the general top trending videos category, beating video hits such as "Harlem Shake (original army edition)," Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" and fellow jokesters The Lonely Island with "YOLO."
Fake foxes even beat out a viral video of "How Animals Eat Their Food," and that clip is just adorable.
"The Fox" was published to YouTube on Sept. 3, and as of Dec. 11 the clip has over 276.4 million views.
YouTube also released the list of the top trending music videos of 2013, and spring's biggest hit topped releases from Miley Cyrus, P!nk and Robin Thicke. Yes, Korean viral video star Psy got the top trending music video honor of the year with his super goofy "Gangham Style" follow-up "Gentleman," which features plenty of pranking and many familiar faces from the K-pop sensation's first American hit.
The official music video for "Gentleman" has nearly 600 million views as of press time.
Other top trending music videos include Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" and "We Can't Stop," Katy Perry's "Roar" and Rihanna's "Stay."
