Led Zeppelin's reissue campaign is finally beginning this year, according to guitarist Jimmy Page (via Ultimate Classic Rock). Page recently updated his website with the message "The first of the Led Zeppelin reissues — comprising of Led Zeppelin I, Led Zeppelin II, and Led Zeppelin III — will be released this year. I've also been working on some of my own material from the archives that will be unleashed in 2014."

As SPIN notes, reports of Page working on the remastered versions of the Led Zeppelin anthology began circulating in late 2012. Back then, he told the press that there would be "one box set per album with extra music that will surface."

No details on the contents of release dates of the reissues have been confirmed. It has been rumored, however, that Shepard Fairey, who collaborated with the band on the Celebration Day film and Mothership compilation, will be responsible for the album art on the reissued sets.

Frontman Robert Plant also has plans for the Zeppelin archives. He recently told the BBC that he found unreleased recordings from the band. "I found some quarter-inch spools recently," he said. "I had a meeting with Jimmy and we backed them up and listened to them. And there's some very, very interesting bits and pieces that probably will turn up on these things,"

We'll have to wait and see what's in store for these reissues. But for now, you can listen to the first three Zeppelin LPs on Spotify, now that they have signed a deal with the streaming giant.
