John Legend, Ed Sheeran, James Blunt, David Guetta and more musicians are helping the United Nations put together "the world's happiest playlist" to draw awareness to "International Day Of Happiness" this Friday.

Fans can also contribute their favorite upbeat song by posting it via Twitter with the hashtag #HappySoundsLike.

"On this day we are using the universal language of music to show solidarity with the millions of people around the world suffering from poverty, human rights abuses, humanitarian crises and the effects of environmental degradation and climate change," U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said in a statement.

The U.N. Secretary General put in Stevie Wonder's 1970 song "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours" for his nomination. International Day of Happiness was created by the United Nations in 2012 because "the pursuit of happiness is a fundamental human goal."

Australian pop singer-songwriter Cody Simpson, known for his song "Pretty Brown Eyes, will select five songs to include on the official playlist on March 20th.

"I am really pleased to be part of such an amazing campaign to raise awareness of International Day of Happiness," said Simpson. "I hope everyone gets behind the day and shares the track that makes them happiest."

Last year, Pharrell and his many hats hosted a "24 Hours of Happy" on YouTube. He created "the world's longest music video" for it. The 24-hour-long music video moved through a day in real-time and featured hundreds of people dancing to his song. Pharrell also asked fans to share videos of them showing their happiness to his feel-good song "Happy."
