Snoop Dogg was not part of our childhood experiences, because our parents didn't tolerate that sort of language in the house. Nintendo NES and Game Boy Color were a big part of our childhood however, and now thanks to Snoop's transformation into the more family-friendly entity Snoop Lion and the music video for his track "Get Away," we can combine both experiences.

The track, which features instrumental contribution from Major Lazer plus Angela Hunte supplementing Snoop's own vocals, has been rendered by animator Mykola Dysenko into an old-school Nintendo theme.

The video opens with an 8-bit Snoop wandering around the world until he bumps into the self-titled, cannon-armed mascot of Major Lazer. Snoop implores Lazer to join him during a journey, but Lazer challenges him to a Pokémon-style battle first. Snoop opens with Supalion and Lazer chooses Sandyman, essentially a sand castle with angry eyebrows. The latter's sandblaster attack was no match for the former's scrrratch (sic) however. Supalion then defeats Mr. Metal, a Geodude-looking dude with "lenticular lazers."

Convinced that Snoop is legit, Major Lazer joins him as the game enters a Super Mario Bros. 2D format. Snoop and Lazer fly a hovering Cadillac convertible and hoverboard, respectively. The pair blast 8-bit tanks before coming face-to-face with a massive, floating, four-eyed boom box, which they manage to destroy.

Will there be a second level to this game? We sure hope so. Regardless of whether you enjoy Snoop's new musical style, this video is well-worth your time.
