Kari Jobe has spent the last few days in Honduras, arriving on July 16, leading up to an enormous event on July 20 called, '1 Nation, 1 Day,' organized through an not-for-profit called, Missions.Me.

The event came about as a result of one brave young missionary from the U.S. persuading the government to allow 2,000 Christians to travel to Honduras, one of the world's most dangerous countries, in order to preach the gospel, provide medical aid, containers of food, and ultimately work to change lives.

The event was inspired by the scripture, Isaiah 66:8 which states, "Can a country be born in a day or a nation be brought forth in a moment? Yet no sooner is Zion in labor than she gives birth to her children.' '1 Nation, 1 Day,' will culminate in an event on July 20, during which 18 different ministries will hold outreaches in 18 capital cities in Honduras in order to touch the lives of the people there.  Teams will make a difference in schools an churches by sharing the Gospel message with people and showing them the true meaning of Hope.

"We have almost 1,600 people already signed up to come with us to Honduras July 13-21. We have already shipped 10 containers of aid and we're gathering eight more. We have 18 different ministries sponsoring 18 different outreaches in the capital cities on July 20," said Dominic Russo, the 29-year-old missionary who organized the event through his non-profit Missions.Me network, back in March, according to the Christian Post.

The event will be broadcast live in Honduras on the government channel, allowing missionaries to touch the lives of even more individuals throughout the nation. "We're going to be on every radio station in Honduras and broadcast hopefully across the world with a couple of different Christian networks," Russo told the Christian Post. "The momentum is unbelievable and the vision is that all of Honduras will be changed and impacted in one day."

Honduras is a nation that is desperately in need of love and growth. It is crippled by a poor economy and a history of violent crimes. The Honduran people have been cited to be living in the second poorest country in all of Central America, resulting from an unequal distribution of wealth. Unemployment is a big concern and the nation is also plagued with high levels of internal and external debt.

The event has been made possible through President Lobo-Sosa of Honduras, who signed a resolution declaring '1 Nation, 1 Day' a national Holiday and supporting it along the way. The President has agreed to appear on international television to promote the events and has promised to personally attend the even on the final night. "I believe that President Lobo wants to see the challenges that the country faces overcome. I believe he wants to see healing, unity and peace. He wants to bridge the divide that currently exists," Russo told the Christian Post.

'1 Nation, 1 Day,' ultimately aims to impact the lives of the people of Honduras by sharing the Gospel message with them and showing them that, through Christ, it is possible to overcome the situations in our lives that seem to hold us back and to live anew. "We're definitely looking to the future and hoping that this will become a model for impacting other nations strategically, where all these nonprofits and missions organizations won't be independently working, but instead all focused together at one place at one time to make the most change," Russo told the Christian Post.

Jobe is set to be a Conference Speaker as well as a performer during the event, but she has recently faced some difficulty, as her band's airplane experienced engine trouble and she has been left to lead worship without a band in Honduras. "And then when your band's airplane has engine trouble and turns around to go back and you're without a band to lead worship in Honduras..." she tweeted earlier today, July 19.

In addition to Jobe, Missions.Me is also partnering with other individuals and groups, including the radio station, WCIC FM.

Let us keep Kari Jobe in our prayers that, despite the unexpected change of plans, she is still able to successfully communicate her message with the people of Honduras.
