After a small hiccup that resulted in a two-week delay in its release, The-Dream's Crown EP has been released. The six-track project comes with just one feature: T.I. on the previously released "That's My S**t." The EP is the first of his two-part album series Crown Jewel, with the Jewel EP coming later in the summer. The tracks flip back and forth between soft, personal tracks and more cocky lyrics over atmospheric instrumentals that have been a calling card of his since he started with subtle arpeggios and harmonies and a walking bass line. You can stream or download the album.

The EP oozes sensuality, which he personifies in "All I Need" with a French woman explaining love in the opening, saying, "Love is desire, love is egotistical." "Cedes Benz" caps off the EP on a more energetic note as The-Dream takes to rapping over a trap beat before ending back on a softer R&B note that he sings thoroughout the whole EP.

The project is available to download on iTunes and can be streamed on Spotify below.

This is not the only music fans can expect to here from The-Dream -- real name Terius Youngdell Nash -- this year. His nine-track Jewel EP will be released July 10.

Nash recently spoke to Vibe about his releases and why he broke up his releases into EPs.

He explained that he felt the need to split things up because "people didn't even get past Song 5 or 6" on his last album IV Play, which could be an indictment of his work or the attention span of fans.

He explained further that he does not mean to seem distant on social media: He is working all the time and prioritizes making music over posting on social media.

"My days, sometimes, it's just about work. I'm not thinking about taking a picture in the studio, and I don't have the time to stop being creative to stop and post on Instagram," reasons The-Dream. "That's not a part of my creative process. You just keep going because I don't feel like there's anything more important than that."
