T-Pain has released his long-awaited mixtape, The Iron Way. The 20-track project features the likes of Lil Wayne, Yo Gotti, Migos, Bun B, Big K.R.I.T., The Dream and his frequent partner, Kardinal Offishall, among others. Unfortunately, the original track 16, “Girlfriends” that was to feature previously unheard vocals from Aaliyah did not make the cut and may never be released to the public.

The tape has everything old T-Pain fans want with club-ready beats, swaggering verses and well-crafted hooks. The features give the tape some balance and show his ability to still draw on other high-quality acts for a verse.

DJ Drama and DJ Trendsetter Sense hosted the mixtape as part of Drama’s prestigious Gangsta Grillz series that has included other rappers like Ghostface Killah, Jeezy, 50 Cent, Pharrell and Lil Wayne.

The tape serves as a primer for T-Pain’s upcoming 2015 album, Stoicville: The Phoenix, arriving sometime this year. A release date has not been announced yet, but stay tuned for that news probably later in the year.
