Even though folk-country duo The Civil Wars may not be a band anymore, that doesn't mean John Paul White and Joy Williams have stopped racking up awards. In 2013, The Civil Wars released its second (and likely final) eponymous album, spawning several highly regarded singles. Last night (Jan. 26), that album spawned "From The Valley," for which White and Williams won their fourth Grammy award, but the golden gramophone has not come without some drama.

Though the award was given out during the Grammys pre-telecast, which was available only for streaming online, band member White was there to receive the award, for which The Civil Wars beat out country juggernauts such as Dolly Parton, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift and Keith Urban.

During his acceptance speech, however, White left out a few key names, most notably the song's producers and, oh yeah, his fellow Civil War. Now, after almost a year and a half since his last tweet, White apologized on Twitter.

"I want to thank all for their congrats. Truly. My silence has never been ambivalence," White wrote in a series of tweets. "I also want to apologize for my omission of Joy, Charlie Peacock, Richie Biggs, and Nate Yetton (among many others) in my thank you's. It was classless and unacceptable, and I hope my personal and public apology can and will be accepted. I can't begin to say how surprised I was by the win, or that I took the podium alone. Multiple states of shock. But no excuse. Thanks also for your patience this past year, and understanding of my stance to devote all my energies to my family. It is dearly appreciated."

The omission of Williams and co. follows The Civil Wars' extended hiatus, citing "internal discord and irreconcilable differences." White and Williams are reportedly not on speaking terms.
