Growing up is really hard. Anyone who has battle the halls of a middle school can tell you that. Today (Feb. 6) Foster The People released the music video for "Coming Of Age," the lead single off its second studio effort Supermodel, and the indie rockers showcased how basically everyone in their early teens are bullied and unhappy.

And the youthful torture isn't limited to just one kid. There's the teen who gets his ass beat on the basketball court, the punk getting chased by cops for causing mischief, a smoker, a little kid lusting after a much older woman, the doofy mascot, and a girl so full of ennui it penetrates the viewer.

What's nice about "Coming Of Age," though, is that it reminds viewers these years in time are only temporary. The lonely mascot finds love, the bullied basketball kid becomes a boxing champ and the ennui girl finds love and adventure with a motorcycle-driving man.

It's all very indie and very cool, but the message is there. And it's all set to an infectious indie pop beat.
