Icona Pop may be stars nowadays, with the major hit "I Love It" and a tour with One Direction under their belt, but in their new single the Swedish duo are revisiting their "First Time." Today (July 16), Icona Pop released the latest single from their Emergency EP and it's all about going back.

"First Time" lacks the bizarre, chaotic energy that infiltrated "Emergency," but the inherent danceable nature of the pop group remains as they look back on how getting drunk, high or making love are never quite the same as the first time but "that's OK."

If "First Time" sounds more like old school Icona Pop, that's because the song has been in the group's mind since an original incarnation in 2012. But now with the help of producer Ricky Reed, the song has been recreated for the new Icona Pop EP.

"The song has a whole new meaning to it now, looking back and reflecting on how far we've come since those early days when we were broke and didn't have a clue what we were doing or where we were going!" Icona Pop singer Aino Jawo said in a statement.

"It's such a special song to us and really is a celebration of friendship, whether it's with your boyfriend or girlfriend or best friend. We just wanted to capture that feeling again in a song and remind ourselves how important it is to never forget those special early days when you first meet someone," Caroline Hjelt continued.
