Back in 2011, rapper Buddy released his first single and video "Awesome Awesome" under Pharrell Williams' "i am OTHER" label. And just this past November, The Boombox named the Compton rapper one of the top "10 West Coast Rappers to Watch in 2014. Here's one reason we can see why: Buddy has just teamed up with Miley Cyrus on his new mixtape, Idle Time. The song is called "Smoke Signals" and though he's no longer under "i am OTHER," Pharrell still produced the song.

Buddy recently released the single "Kids On The Block," featuring Freddie Gibbs. But it's "Smoke Signals" with Miley Cyrus that seems to be getting crazy airplay around the web at such an early stage. She doesn't rap on the track, but sings in the background: "You make me high." Have a listen below.

BUDDY ft MILEY CYRUS " Smoke Signals... by UnderProject

On Sunday, Buddy (@MeltsLOVEbuddy) tweeted a picture of the two of them along with the caption, "Last night was great! Good show @MileyCyrus."

She tweeted back "can't wait until Tuesday Buddddddy." Miley's yet to tweet directly about the song or video. That shout-out will undoubtedly bring even more attention to the song.

What do you think of Miley's contribution -- does it add or detract from Buddy's latest? Could you see them collaborating again in the future?
