Kelly Clarkson launched her Piece by Piece North American headlining tour on July 11 in Hershey, PA at Hershey Park Stadium, and the singer will wrap up the 36-date run on September 20 in Camden, New Jersey at the Susquehanna Bank Center (tickets still available). Although Clarkson is often regarded as the top American Idol standout, her fellow American Idol stars Adam Lambert and Carrie Underwood saw higher secondary market ticket prices on their previous tours, making Clarkson tickets cheaper than fellow stars' pricing.

There is no denying the success that Kelly Clarkson has achieved. In March, Clarkson earned her third No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with Piece By Piece. She last topped the Billboard 200 in 2009 with her fourth studio album, All I Ever Wanted, and made her first No.1 debut, with her 2003 album, Thankful. Her Piece By Piece tour has been a tremendous success, as she has effortlessly filled venues across North America. Across the map, the average ticket price to see Kelly Clarkson is $140, according to TiqIQ. Her most expensive date on the secondary market her July 17 stop at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, where the average ticket price was $231, with a get-in price of $95. Clarkson's cheapest date was her July 28 show at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, where the average ticket price was $62, with a get-in of $24. Although the ticket market has been competitive for Piece By Piece, Adam Lambert's 2014 Run With Queen had slightly higher ticket prices.

Last summer, season 8 American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert embarked on a national tour run with British rockers Queen, and the tour dates yielded impressive ticket sales. Across the tour, Adam Lambert and Queen tickets averaged $173 on the secondary market, about $30 more expensive than Clarkson's current run. Their most expensive date on the tour was a July 5 stop at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas where the average ticket price was $457 with a get-in ticket of $188. The cheapest stop for the tour was a July 9 show at the Toyota Center in Houston where the average secondary ticket price was $83, with a get-in ticket price as low as $6.

To compare to other American Idol stars, in 2012, Country music songstress Carrie Underwood, who won American Idol's fourth season in 2005, embarked on a year-long tour in support of her album Blown Away. The Blown Away tour hit numerous U.S. cities, and the third leg of the North American run in 2013 saw secondary ticket averages of $156 across the market. Underwood's priciest show was her May 12 stop at CenturyLink Center in Omaha, where the average ticket price was $358, with a get-in price of $64. Her cheapest show was an April 17 stop at the Colonial Life Arena in South Carolina, where the average ticket price was $88, with a get-in price of $65.
