On Wednesday Sept. 9, Caitlyn Jenner talked to Today's Matt Lauer about her transitioning journey from a male-to-female, as well as, the horrific fatal car accident that ultimately took the life of a 69-year-old woman. Jenner discussed what she remembered happening that day and the scary realization and worry of possibly facing jail time in a men's prison.

In February of this year, the 65-year-old former Olympian rear-ended a Lexus with her Cadillac Escalade SUV, which then ignited a ripple effect of accidents, ultimately killing driver, Kim Howe, and leaving seven others injured. Last month, news broke about the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department possibly slapping Jenner with a misdemeanor manslaughter charge. The victim's children Dana Redmond and William Howe are also took action by suing Jenner with a wrongful death lawsuit over the fatal collision.

"I remember it happening [but] that's about it," said Jenner to Lauer. A tragedy like this, you'll never get over it. You just learn to live with it the best you possibly can."

If convicted of the crime, Kendall and Kylie Jenner's father could face a year behind bars. Although legal experts strongly doubt the I Am Cait star will actually face jail time, Jenner is still shaken up by the thought of her setting foot inside a prison. What worries her the most though, is living out her sentence in a male populated county jail.

"The media wants that picture, don't they?" Jenner said. "That is the worst-case scenario. I don't know. We'll see. The men's county jail. It is an enormous problem that they would put trans-women in a men's county jail."

Investigators say Jenner didn't violate any traffic laws, but believe speed might have played a factor in the crash due to the rainy road conditions. Jenner admitted she was doing the speed limit despite the weather, but is convinced the trailer she had attached to her vehicle is a partial reason as to why she couldn't stop in time. This fits with advice from insurance carriers about trailer safety, as Esurance notes, "The added weight of the trailer gives your vehicle extra momentum, which means it takes longer to reduce your speed."  Unfortunately, Jenner apparently didn't take precautions to allow for the added momentum.  She denied the speeding allegations, saying she was actually driving under the speed limit.

"I was under the speed limit. I was going 46 in a 50. My airbag didn't even go off. All I probably needed was half a second of time. I almost stopped, but couldn't quite get it stopped. I was pulling a trailer, so, no, I don't think it was speed or anything like that," she added about the accident, which occurred earlier this year on the Pacific Coast Highway.
