Ellie Goulding has a unique approach to self-advertisement and used an artsy GIF to announce her new album's release. The GIF was posted to her Instagram and Twitter and the release date is scheduled for this Thursday (Sept. 17), and it seems 2015 has been an exceedingly good year for the singer, with a spot on both the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack with her song "Love Me Like You Do" and an appearance in Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" music video, which officially rockets her onto the Hollywood A-list. Her third album is also in the works, so it's safe to say that Goulding has been busy.
In an interview with Refinery29, Goulding said about her new album, "It's summery. It's pop-y and it's got a summer feeling, but it's more an end of summer feeling. It's kind of heartbreaking at times, but it's also uplifting," which is seemingly a big change from being pigeonholed into the ever-trendy EDM label.
MTV reported that "Love Me Like You Do," topped the world record for the most streamed online song in a single week, and this type of success has translated into big changes musically for Goulding in order to keep up with her own trends.
On the changes she said, "I've realized what it is to translate a song to live performances. I've performed so many times at festivals and live shows. I feel like that's been a big step in my journey as a musician. I'm also constantly listening to things. I've been listening to electronic music for such a long time, but I like a specific kind of electronic music. I've been trying to fine-tune my pace a little bit."
The artsy, glam-pop GIF shows the singer in a slowed-down video with her lotus tattoo in full view, a transparent white scarf of some kind tied around her face and a a lot of side-boob as tinsel floats around her body.
