The Australian version of the Grammys, the ARIAs have unveiled the nominations for its 2015 awards. Strictly for Australian acts and their achievements, except for one category devoted to international superstars, the nominations cover some names that have grown to be know across the world. Among those who have racked up multiple nominations across multiple categories include Vance Joy, Courtney Barnett, Hermitude and Tame Impala.

Barnett leads the total nominations with 8 total, including album of the year, best newcomer and best female artist. Vance Joy and Hermitude both rack up seven nominations including for album of the year. Tame Impala also get an album of the year nod with their five other nominations. Flight Facilities, who have a total of 3 nominations secure the other album of the year nomination.

Independent artists rule the nominations at the 2015 ARIAs, with acts like Peking Duk, Jarryd James, Hermitude, Courtney Barnett and Vance Joy all racking up nominations.

Though this night is all about the Australian acts and those who have made an impact on the charts at home and abroad, the international acts nominated are James Bay, Ed Sheeran, Foo Fighters, Calvin Harris and Hozier.

"There has been a host of Australian #1 Albums and Singles on the ARIA Charts this year, from established artists such as AC/DC, Delta Goodrem, John Farnham and Olivia Newton-John to newcomers like Troye Sivan, Conrad Sewell and Grace," says ARIA Chief Executive Officer Dan Rosen in a statement. "These achievements, combined with stellar live performances, unforgettable collaborations, and special guest appearances, ensure we are in for an exceptional night at The Star on Thursday Nov. 26."

The nominations were announced Wednesday morning at a gala. The awards will be broadcast on TEN Network on Nov. 26.
