Cage the Elephant are still two weeks away from the release of its new album Tell Me I'm Pretty, but the band isn't finished rolling out new material. On Thursday (Dec. 3), the alt-rockers released its latest crunchy Dan Auerbach produced track, "Too Late to Say Goodbye."

Unlike lead single "Mess Around" and its psychedelic follow-up "Trouble," "Too Late to Say Goodbye" brings those Black Keys blues influences and turns them up to 11. The song is a slow-crawling, dirty little ditty filled with yearning, emotional pleas from Matthew Shultz played up against a deep bassline, Auerbach-y guitar flares and a bluesy melody.

Lyrically, Shultz explores a twisted girl and their relationship, and the pain of first love comes through in his most dynamic and gripping vocals in quite some time.

"Now I'm under your spell / Trapped in the lie / Shouldn't have stood that close to the fire / No way to turn back, nowhere to run / Nowhere to hide / It's too late to say goodbye," Shultz sings in the chorus, and his intonation of singing "Oh my god" is as spellbinding as the enchantress herself.

"Too Late To Say Goodbye" is the latest track to be rolled out from Cage the Elephant's new album Tell Me I'm Pretty. The new LP, the band's fourth and first since 2013's Melophobia. Tell Me I'm Pretty will be released on Dec. 18.
