Marcus Marr and Chet Faker have released their new four-track collaborative EP titled Work via Faker's newly minted Detail Records / Downtown Records. The EP brings together the airy, distinctly Australian sound of Chet Faker with the more rugged house sensibilities of Marr into one of diverse and genre-bending EP.

The EP explores all realms of what both artists bring to the table with their own solo records. The first track "Birthday Card," reminds listeners of a lengthy subdued house track with a funky bass line and a surprising guitar solo in the middle. It was released as one of the two singles in the lead up to the Work EP's unveiling.

The EP then swings back to some funkier and more organic sounds on "The Trouble With Us" as Faker's voice becomes clearer on "The Trouble With Us." They then find that balance between the two artists, going from strength to strength on the last two tracks "Learning For Your Love" and "Killing Jar."

Marr speaks enthusiastically about working alongside Faker. "It was a real thrill as the songs came together. As far as working out lyrics and music the guy is super-talented. He writes all his lyrics in his black book and he loves his pen. Actually, Nick, I was rummaging through a drawer in my studio the other day and I found your special pen - do you want it back, mate?"

The pair are coming to the United States at the end of 2015 for a short stint of shows together on the West Coast and then Marr will continue on for a few more shows by himself in Miami, Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal and New York.
