Australian singer, songwriter and producer Chet Faker has announced the details for his new four-track EP with British DJ Marcus Marr titled Work. The first single "The Trouble With Us" has been shared as a primer for the EP release on Dec. 4 via Faker's newly launched Detail Records / Downtown Records.

The EP was recorded over four days in Marr's South London studio earlier this year. Faker, who normally handles every aspect of song creation from the songwriting, to the singing to the production, worked with Marr to create punchy instrumentals that balance his soulful vocals.

The relationship began where many do in this day and age - Twitter. Faker supported one of Marr's tracks, they started conversing and this led to an exchange of various song parts that began this collaboration.

Marr speaks enthusiastically about working alongside Faker. "It was a real thrill as the songs came together. As far as working out lyrics and music the guy is super-talented. He writes all his lyrics in his black book and he loves his pen. Actually, Nick, I was rummaging through a drawer in my studio the other day and I found your special pen - do you want it back, mate?"

Marcus Maar will join Faker for three tour dates in California to close out the year at The Observatory in Santa Ana on Dec. 28, The Observatory North Park in San Diego on Dec. 29 and then on New Year's Eve in San Francisco at Mezzanine.

Work will be released on Dec. 4. You can purchase "The Trouble With Us" on iTunes.
