Chet Faker and Banks have unveiled a new version of the "Gold" singer's Built On Glass song "1998." The original has been one of the bigger tracks from Faker's album and was performed live on Jimmy Kimmel earlier this year.

The combination of Chet Faker, born Nicholas James Murphy, and Banks is an obvious one with their singing styles complimenting each other almost perfectly. The original mellow house instrumental is kept in tact, but things change when it comes to the vocals. Faker's own lyrics don't change, but he cedes time to Banks, while also recording call and responses with her in the chorus. Banks' voice matches the tenor and sound of the instrumental and is used as an extra layer as she croons underneath the Australian singer's own vocals.

The collaboration was premiered on Beats 1 radio with Zane Lowe earlier today and is now available for purchase on iTunes. Listen to it below on Soundcloud.

The Australian-raised, Brooklyn-based singer is wrapping up a busy summer right now with gigs coming up at Osheaga Music & Arts Festival and Lollapalooza this weekend before heading to Outside Lands and FYF on subsequent weekends. He will then return home down under for some spring shows around Australia. See the full list of dates below and then head over to Faker's website to purchase your tickets.
